Ingredients
Active substance: ketorolac
Each tablet contains 10mg ketorolac tromethamine
Pharmacotherapeutic group
Non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and fisease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).
Indications
Short-term treatment of moderate to high intensity pain, including postoperative pain.
Use and Dosage
The tablets should preferably be administered during or after eating.
The drug is recommended for short-term use (up to 7 days).
For minimizing the side effects, the drug should be administered in the smallest effective dose for a short period of time that is required for symptoms control. Before treatment it is necessary to achieve normovolemia.
In adults: 10 mg of Ketolac every 4-6 hours, if necessary. The drug dose should not be 40 mg per day. Opioid analgesics (e.g., morphine and pethidine) can be administered concurrently; Ketolac has no effect on the binding of opioid drugs and does not increase the respiratory depression and sedative action of opioids.
Side Effects
On the digestive tract: dyspepsia, nausea, gastrointestinal pain, and abdominal discomfort.
On the central nervous system: headache, drowsiness, dizziness.
On the liver: liver function disorders.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding period. There is no data about the safety of using the drug during pregnancy; therefore it is contraindicated in pregnant women, labor contractions, and birth-giving.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ketorolac or any ingredient of the drug patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, peptic ulcer, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding in anamnesis.
Precautions
Duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days.
