Ingredients
Active ingredient: Simethicone (in the form of 30% simethicone emulsion) - 66,66 mg/ml.
- Eliminates and prevents painful colics
- Does not affect the intestinal microflora and food intake
- Suitable for children in the first months of life
- Not absorbed in the digestive tract
- Does not contain sugar
Indications for Use
- increased flatulence and accumulation of gas in the digestive tract (painful colics, uncomfortable feeling of fullness in the abdominal cavity, aerophagia, dyspepsia, meteorism, including meteorism in the postsurgical period).
- preparation of the abdominal cavity organs and pelvis minor for diagnostic tests (roentgenography, ultrasonography, gastroscopy and duodenoscopy – foam cell prevention).
Methods of administration
Increased flatulence and accumulation of gas in the digestive tract:
Stopcolic is usually administered after meals, three times a day and at bedtime:
- infants and children up to 2 years - 8 drops (20 mg simethicone) 4 times a day
- children aged 2 -6 years – 14 drops (35 mg simethicone) 4 times a day
- children over 6 years and adults – 16 drops (40 mg simethicone) 4 times a day
Preparation for diagnostic procedures
Radiographic study of the digestive tract:
One day prior to the study it is recommended to take the following doses in the morning and in the evening:
- infants and children up to 2 years – 10 drops (25 mg simethicone) 2 times a day
- children aged 2 -6 years – 16 drops (40 mg simethicone) 2 times a day
- children over 6 years and adults – 20 drops (50 mg simethicone) 2 times a day
Shake well before use until a homogeneous emulsion is obtained.
For accurate measure of the dose, during instillation, the bottle should be kept in a vertical position.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to simethicone and/or other drug ingredients;
- intestinal impassability;
- obstructive digestive disorders.
Pregnancy andBreastfeeding
Up to present, no evidence of teratogenic or embryotoxic effects of simethicone has been revealed. The drug can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding with the doctor’s prescription.
